Before the procedure begins, one of our clinical consultants will discuss the treatment with you and record your reasons for choosing cryolipolysis.

At the start of the procedure, the clinician will measure and mark the size and shape of the treatment area.

A gel pad will then be placed on the targeted area to protect the skin from direct exposure to the applicator’s extreme cold temperature.

The cryolipolysis applicator will be positioned directly over the fatty deposit, drawing the area into its cavity through suction.

Once the fatty tissue is inside the applicator, the temperature will gradually be lowered to -7°C.

It is normal for the body to briefly react to the vacuum suction and intense cooling before these sensations fade into a tingling numbness.

Some aching or cramping sensations may occur, but any discomfort typically subsides within 5 to 10 minutes of the procedure starting.

Harvard scientists observed that children who consumed large quantities of popsicles developed noticeable dimples on their cheeks.

Dr R. Rox Anderson and Dr Dieter Manstein, the pioneers of cryolipolysis, based their method of freezing fat on the concept of ‘cold-induced fat necrosis,’ which they had seen in children enjoying frozen treats.

They collected samples from paediatric patients to study this phenomenon.

Their findings showed that while prolonged exposure to cold caused fat inflammation, it did not damage the outer skin or surrounding tissues.
